Our lab-grown prices
At Lightbox, we grow the stones to our own specifications meaning we can price our lab-grown diamonds in a linear way. This means that the price per carat goes up as the size increases, but your price for the consistent high-quality cut, clarity, and color does not.
If you want to buy a piece of Lightbox Jewelry (rather than a loose stone) a setting cost is then added to the price of the stone, reflective of the type and amount of your chosen metal.
Lab-grown diamonds vs natural diamond pricing
In natural diamond pricing, the price goes up exponentially when a larger weight is combined with high-quality cut, color and clarity as this increases a stone's rarity and value. In lab-grown diamonds, this rarity is removed, meaning we can price our stones in a more affordable way, no matter the carat weight. We're often asked why our stones are often priced lower than lab-grown diamonds available elsewhere - and this is why.
You’ll find that other lab-grown diamond providers follow the natural diamond pricing model, making their prices higher. At Lightbox, our cutting-edge technology (we hold the most patents in the lab-grown diamond field) combined with our linear pricing model offers a new and accessible approach to lab-grown diamonds. Meaning more sparkle, more often.
Do lab-grown diamonds have a re-sale value?
This depends on the price you pay for a lab-grown diamond originally. As a relatively new manufacturing process, it’s reasonable to expect the cost of production to fall, and lab-grown diamonds purchased at too high of a price will lose value as similar stones will become available for a lower cost.
