Our stones are made in a lab. By scientists. For you.
Science & Sparkle
Lab-grown diamonds share the same physical, chemical and optical characteristics as rare, natural diamonds.
But the process needed to create them is different from nature, so while they are neither as valuable or precious, they are just as sparkly.
Put a tiny piece of lab-grown diamond, rather like a seed,
into a plasma reactor. Then heat that plasma to 4000
Kelvin (over 6000 degrees Fahrenheit)
Gradually the tiny crystal grows.
After around 400 hours, it’s big enough to cut into a polished
stone. And if we want a bigger one, we simply run the process
Which is why our pricing is so easy. Twice the size, twice the price.
Jewel or tool?
The very same lab-grown diamond can be used in many cutting-edge technologies.
From today’s finest audio systems to tomorrow’s quantum computers.
Choose your color
We can play with chemistry, time and temperature to make a lab-grown diamond in different colors. So you can choose a jewel in blush pink or powder blue.
In nature, diamonds in these "fancy colors” are extraordinarily rare.
And so extremely valuable. But we can create our pinks and blues any day of the week.
And that’s just for now.
Our scientists are already developing future sparkling colors.
Just like any hi tech product, we create our gems to a consistently
high standard. Over and over again.
So our solitaires don’t need certificates to describe them.
What’s the point? They’re all the same. Equally beautiful, each and
Instead, each stone larger than 0.2 carats will be laser inscribed with the Lightbox logo (but invisible to the naked eye).
As a promise of quality.
Among the finest lab-grown diamonds you can find.
Among the best
Based in the UK, Element Six grow their raw gems exclusively for Lightbox.
Element Six are a world leader in the field with over 30 years of research and development, and have pioneered the use of lab-grown diamond in multiple applications, from the sharpest surgical blade to the unrivaled speaker ‘tweeters’ used in Abbey Road studios.
Time and again
We monitor quality all the time as each solitaire is cut to our demanding standards. We want every Lightbox lab-grown diamond to sparkle just like the next.
Set in gorgeous designs, classic but playful. And impeccably made.
