Thankful to local businesses for providing a little light

At Lightbox, our world is mostly online. But over the past year, we've had pop-ups in several cities and were embraced in each one by the local community. Which is why we want to give back to these communities, beginning with New York City.
We immediately thought of the restaurant industry, which has been one of the hardest hit by this pandemic. Many of our favorite restaurants have shown incredible resilience in the face of this challenge. While they can no longer operate their businesses as usual, they have provided meals for our heroic healthcare workers instead.

Over the past few days we’ve been working with Regina’s Grocery to deliver meals to Gouverneur hospital, and Vinateria to deliver meals to Harlem Hospital.

At Regina’s Grocery, owners Regina and Roman Grandinetti are a mother/son team who have built a neighborhood staple in NYC's Lower East Side. We've worked with them to deliver 500 meals to Gouverneur hospital, just a few blocks away.

"It was a pleasure working with Lightbox as diamonds can light up your eyes - food can too! Thank you Lightbox!" - Roman Grandinetti, Owner, Regina's Grocery

Meanwhile at Vinateria, owner Yvette Leeper-Bueno remains a pioneer in the Harlem food scene, providing a substantial hot lunch (her delicious Rigatoni Norma) to the Harlem Hospital team.

"Partnering with Lightbox to be able to support Harlem Hospital has meant so much to us during these challenging times. Through these donations we’re able to support our restaurant staff, and in turn support those who are most vulnerable right now, our frontline workers. The mission of our restaurant has always been to be a warm and inviting place for our community, and to be able to support our community the way they have supported us over the last seven years means the world to us." - Yvette Leeper-Bueno, Owner, Vinateria

Thank you to Regina’s Grocery, and Vinateria for the light you bring to your local communities, and to the courageous efforts of our healthcare teams, working tirelessly in the fight against this virus.
